Building a Grassroots Movement for Community Rights and the Rights of Nature

Via Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund – CELDF

CELDF’s Thomas Linzey narrates this slideshow which examines why we’re unable to make decisions in our communities about issues like fracking, including why and how higher levels of government, working hand-in-hand with corporations, stand in the way of local democracy and sustainability. This look at those key legal doctrines – including corporate constitutional “rights” – which have created a structure of law and governance which many describe as a “corporate state.” And from that, how CELDF is organizing with communities across the U.S. to build a new structure, which protects people, our communities, and nature.
